Fantasy Calendar and Giveaway! Where the Carnies Are by Kayla Curry

It's 2014 and we're celebrating with an awesome fantasy themed calendar. This calendar is for the background on your computer and you can get this month's image below.

Each month will feature a different book or series, so if you want to challenge yourself, try reading each book or series that is featured before each month is over. Where the Carnies Are

Olive is having a very bad day. She caught her boyfriend cheating on her, she lost her job, and she stumbled into a portal leading to a secret carnival kingdom which she can’t escape. The good news is she meets an eccentric, but stunningly handsome knife thrower. The bad news is she can’t go home for another two months.

The world she lands in is full of sideshow characters, terrifying amusement rides and her biological parents’ past. She was born a carny, but raised as a normal human. Magic lives in her blood, but it hasn’t reached her heart. To find out who she really is, and why carnies are disappearing, Olive must deceive the king with the help of Alex the knife thrower.

Olive and Alex play a dangerous game with their emotions when they decide to have a fling during Olive’s stay. They both lead very different lives and being together would mean one of them giving up the life they've always known.

Tricks and traps are around every corner in this kingdom. Few can be trusted and Olive will need all the help she can get to make it through unscathed.

Finding Litchgates Tour with S.M. Boyce




Heyo! S. M. Boyce here. I’m on this cozy blog today as part of my Finding Lichgates Blog Tour. My hosts are so awesome for letting me show you the stories of how some of my fans found Lichgates and the other books in the Grimoire Saga.


So, for those of you who aren’t familiar with the series, I think I should explain what a lichgate is. A lichgate is a portal that ties our world to the terrifying and beautiful world in my Grimoire Saga called Ourea. Lichgates can be found in remote places, and when you walk through a lichgate, the land you cross into is not what you would see if you’d simply walked around the portal.


For many fans, stumbling upon the first book in the Grimoire Saga is much like stumbling through a lichgate. That is why this tour is all about the fans and how they found their first lichgate into the world of the Grimoire Saga.

I found Lichgates on Twitter back in 2012. I had added S. M. Boyce and one of her tweets stood out to me. I clicked on the link and found her book, Lichgates. I think it was $.99 at the time and I liked the blurb. Of course, I got busy and was unable to read it right away. A few months later, I finally opened it up and began to read. Man, was I taken for a ride. This book had that most amazing world and some seriously awesome characters too. From there, I couldn't help but find out more about when the next book would come out and how I could help Boyce spread the word about such a great book!
